Information Technology Assistant - IT Support Department
Glencore, as part of its growing operations, is looking for a motivated, efficient, proactive and experienced IT Assistant to join its IT Department of a contract basis in Douala.
As an IT Assistant working for Glencore, the general responsibilities will include:
  • Focal point for day to day end-user support issues
  • Available 24/7 to receive and respond to emails and phone calls relating to onshore & offshore IT systems,
  • General IT duties around company locations in Douala and occasional offshore visits as required by the IT Manager.
  • Duties will include but not limited to: 
Desktop, laptop and printer issue resolution,
Inventory and asset database maintenance,
Upkeep of daily IT systems checklist including data backups and network bandwidth monitoring,
Identifying IT and telecoms equipment needs and sourcing,

Necessary qualification and experience
  • Good and relevant University degree with previous experience in a similar job position,
  • Minimum of 2/3 year experience in IT support duties, ideally within the oil and gas exploration industry,
  • Good knowledge of windows 7 and Office 2010 suites,
  • The ability to work in an multicultural environment,
  • An excellent communicator is essential whilst working with own initiative and little supervision is key,
  • Enterprising, proactive and results oriented person, who enjoys working as part of a team,
  • High standard of spoken and written English and French languages
  • Working hours will be 8:00-5:00pm Monday - Friday.
