Logistics Assistant (Inventory Specialist) - Logistics Department
Glencore, as part of its grow`ing operations, is looking for a motivated, efficient, proactive and experienced Logistics Assistant (Inventory Specialist) to join its General Administration Department on a contract basis in Douala.
As a Logistics Assistant (Inventory Specialist) working for Glencore, the general responsibilities will include:
  • Identifying and optimizing common inventory items,
  • Receive all materials for company, check number of items received as to quantity specified on Freight Bill. Note all over/short supplies, damaged and deviations on all copies of freight bill.
  • Utilizing Outbound Manifest, ensure goods are issued out of Inventory to their proper location.
  • utilizing Inbound Manisfest, ensure any goods returned for subsequent use are transferred back into Inventory under the correct condition status.
  • Liaise with Procurement to ensure Inventory in transit is properly recorded and monitored.
  • Accurately maintain inventory control system (OGSYS).
  • Maintain freight log of all incoming and outgoing merchandise.
  • Manage effectively so that the cycle counts are completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Conduct or supervise audits of facility inventory on a scheduled basis.
  • Maintain proficiency in computerized systems and other technologies as required.
  • Work with Cost Engineer and Drilling Accountant to ensure Inventory is assigned to the correct location.

Necessary qualification and experience
  • Good and relevant University degree with previous experience in a similar job position,
  • knowledge of OGSYS, or other automated inventory/warehouse maangement and distribution software,
  • Minimum of 2/3 year experience in Drilling and Exploration industry,
  • Experience in Materials, warehousing and inventory management including auditing, forecasting and planning,
  • Accuracy and attention to detail,
  • Able to work independently with some direction,
  • Team player who works productively with a wide range of people,
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite,
  • High standard of spoken and written english and french languages
  • Working hours will be 8:00-5:00pm Monday - Friday.
