Human Resources Manager

Purpose of job
- As a member of the in-country top team with specialist knowledge in HR and reporting to the Country Manager, he/she will drive and implement company-wide recruitment,
development and performance to ensure that the company is adequately resourced in having right talent to meet actual and future challenges
Key Roles and Accountability
- Develop & implement HR policies and employee contracts for staff and
consultants that are consistent with company objectives and local regulations
- Analyse, develop and implement reward strategy/policies in line with Afferro
Mining Inc. policy that should give a competitive advantage in terms of
attracting, developing and retaining the right people in the organisation.
- Manage social security and equitable salary tax structures
- Challenge and constantly review organisation structures, manning numbers
and out-sourcing activities in order to enhance productivity and ensure that the
organisation structure supports current and future business needs
- Initiate and support the role profile and job evaluation process
- Develop and implement a pro-active resourcing plan to ensure that the company has
right selection techniques to recruit the right talent in line with the business needs.
- Ensure that all managers and employees have appropriate training & development plans
addressing actual and future organisational needs.
- Evaluate company climate and organisational processes on a regular basis through
employee opinion surveys and drive cultural and team building initiatives to improve the
business and employee morale.
Key Qualifications
- Bi-lingual French and English; in the case of equal skill sets for the job, Cameroonian candidates will be given preference.
- Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or equivalent discipline
- HR professional, 8 to 10 years experience, with at least 3 years as Head of HR function
- Mining experience useful but not essential
- Experience and sound knowledge of employment legislation and interpretation of labor law
- Demonstrable commitment to good corporate governance
- Sound knowledge of pay and job evaluation systems
- Awareness of all other functions and their interface with HR. Sensible to cultural issues in order to manage a multicultural workforce.
- Effective negotiation, influencing, communication and presentation skills to interact with people within and outside the organisation
- Strong leadership and team working skills with the ability to manage conflict
- Other skills
- IT knowledge to maintain and develop computerised personnel administration systems.
