Security Manager

        
Afferro Mining Inc., an equal opportunity employer, is recruiting in view of the expansion of their operations in Cameroon, initially at their Djoum exploration permit and/or Yaoundé office.

Purpose of job

Reporting to the Country Manager, he/she will establish world class security standards on all company sites. He/she will ensure that all threats to business, personnel, assets and
operations are properly identified, evaluated and countered in the most effective, timely and cost effective manner



Key Roles and Accountability

- Ensure highest possible level of security within the company, in accordance to
proven best practices, enabling achievement of company goals
- Constant gathering of intelligence, ensuring a pro active Security Function
- Effective planning of counter measures to overcome all security threats to
business, staff and property in the most effective manner, compliant with best
practices
- Technical standards of security are met to the highest possible level
- Security Policy prepared signed off by the Country Manager and properly
conducted on all company sites
- Contingency Plans for Emergencies available/rehearsed and effectively enforced
- Business Continuity Plan coordinated and enforced as a multifunctional scheme
- Regular briefing sessions conducted, ensuring that Company Security Policy is known
and followed by all
- Monthly reports prepared and sent to Country Manager
- Excellent relationship maintained with local / government security enforcement authority
to ensure protection of the company asset and personnel
- Excellent relationship maintained with relevant government bodies to gather timely
market intelligence



Key Qualifications

- Bi-lingual French and English preferably.
- University graduate and well balanced / level headed individual, with broad experience in corporate security and business management
- Self starter with vision and ability to take calculated risks when dealing with difficult situations
- Mining industry experience useful but not essential
- Demonstrable commitment to good corporate governance
- Able to prepare/conduct interviews, with in-depth knowledge of the security environment
- Effective negotiation, influencing, communication and presentation skills to interact with people within and outside the organisation.
- Strong leadership and team working skills with the ability to manage conflict.
- Other skills
- IT knowledge to maintain and develop computerised systems/database.
